From October 6 to 8, chefs, bakers, students, suppliers, and other food enthusiasts converged at the Convention Center at the fourth floor of the NCCC Mall of Davao City. The occasion? The much-anticipated annual Mindanao Culinary Festival (MCF). It was a celebration of Pinoy culture and indigenous materials as expressed through beautiful culinary creations.
This year’s MCF was a pleasant assault to the senses. The sight of wonderfully created table settings, floral arrangement, centerpieces, cakes, appetizers, desserts, main courses, and pastries provided a cornucopia of colors, smells, and flavors that was entertaining and very much pleasing. Competitions among HRM students, and among professionals also gave much excitement and anticipation to those in attendance.
Enjoy the photos of these masterful creations from both amateurs and professionals (I wasn’t able to tell the difference though)…

Fall in love again–
Feel the vibe this month!
On October 13, hype EVENTS and SWIG Bar invite you to chill with us in a benefit event for BANTAY BATA DAVAO of pure lounging crowned with classic hits of the 60s & 70s, Bossa nova and Latin grooves tapping the lounge aficionados of the Davao night scene.
Tatut’s Fastfood is simply adorable. The entire place has a warm country home feel to it complete with numerous decors, kitchen implements, toys, and other things that makes you feel like you are in a quaint little town where nothing could go wrong. At one point, I wanted to hug the walls. It was that cute. But then, I didn’t go there to be simply amused by the place.
