Tadakuma’s Sukiyaki

Tadakuma's Sukiyaki

For the Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2009 (DFAT 2009), our first stop was Tadakuma Japanese Restaurant. It was Davao’s first chance to impress our blogger guests from Manila. And they (me also) were definitely not disappointed.

Tadakuma offered a lot, and I mean a lot, of delicious Japanese dishes starting off with some sushi, sashimi, and maki which we all devoured like the hungry people that we were. There was also Cha Han, noodles, and yummy tofu.

But the star of the lunch was the Sukiyaki. As far as Japanese soups go, Sukiyaki is king. Tadakuma’s version had thicker noodles than usual in a very tasty broth flavored with soy sauce, and mixed in with eggs, carrots, tofu, and other ingredients. What made the Sukiyaki really impressive was the delicious and tender, tender, tender beef it contained. And there was plenty of it. Not those flimsy beef strips that you have to fight over.

Tadakuma’s Sukiyaki is definitely a must-try for every food lover, especially those who worship Japanese food as much as I do. And it only costs PhP380.00 for a big bowl that two or three people can share. 😉

I must also mention that Tadakuma’s Gyudon (which is my ultimate favorite in the restaurant) is also a must try. It has the same flavorful tender beef pieces. 🙂

Tadakuma has branches at Damosa Gateway along Mamay Road and Jacinto Extension, and is open Sundays to Fridays. You may contact them at +63927-922-1048.

Thank you to Toby Ang of Tadakuma for hosting and sponsoring! The Davao FAT is sponsored by Davao Foodie.

At the airport, while waiting for a flight that got delayed for more than 3 hours, Tadakuma’s katsudon tempered my anger. Well, that and great company, of course. 😀 Thanks for Davao FAT you guys!
