Renowned Davao painters Kublai Millan and Vic Secuya have collaborated with each other and the ABS-CBN Bantay Bata 163 Foundation to mount a two-man show for the benefit of the foundation. Dubbed as “Spirit of Davao,” the exhibit features paintings of flowers in pastel by Secuya, and colorful abstract depictions of Davao life by Millan.

Students of the Pamulaan Center
Weeks ago, I got to attend the Adidas Wanted: Old Shoes Turn Over Ceremony at the Pamulaan Center in Mintal, Davao City.
The center fascinated me a lot because of it’s unique brand of education. It is the first in Asia and one of the very few in the world where education is customized for the culture of the indigenous peoples.

There’s a new cafe in town, and thus far, it is one of the best concept coffee shops I have seen. From the cafe’s interiors to its menu items, there is nothing to frown about at Coffee Cat.
During the cafe’s opening on May 8, 2009, I got to try out their Coffee Jelly Avalanche which did not disappoint. It had a very creamy texture with liberal amounts of coffee jelly. This ice-blended drink is a bit sweeter than I would like but it was an enjoyable drink, nonetheless. It is a must-try for those who like their coffee a bit sweet.
On my second visit (less than a week after), I tried their Mocha Chip Avalanche. It was a little less sweet, a bit more bitter, but with the same creamy smooth texture peppered with mocha chips. It was a very refreshing drink that hot summer afternoon.

From May 8 – 10, mothers and other ladies were given valuable make up tips and demos by the lovely make up artists of Chimes, as they showed what make up are best for different occasions, and for different complexions and skin types. They also offered helpful tips on make up application.
